Mark Twain Museum Hires New Marketing Manager | Business
The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum has hired Brenna McDermott as the museum's Marketing and Community Relations Manager.
McDermott is a 2011 graduate of the journalism program at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., and a native of St. Louis, Mo. She comes to Hannibal from Carlinville, Ill., where she served as Managing Editor of the Macoupin County Enquirer-Democrat. She also served as Editor in Chief of the award-winning student produced newspaper, the Index, at TSU.
"I'm thrilled to join the museum during such an exciting year," McDermott said. "I'll be working to make the 100th anniversary of the museum the most successful year yet."
McDermott will work closely with Museum Executive Director Cindy Lovell in planning the 100th anniversary celebration May 15, 2012.
"We're thrilled to have Brenna join the museum family," said Lovell. "She is a people person with excellent writing and design skills, and she is already coming up with dozens of creative ideas to help us celebrate the museum's 100th anniversary. We're very lucky to have someone of her caliber on board in this important position."
"The anniversary celebration is something community members and Twain lovers alike won't want to miss," McDermott said.
As Marketing Manager, McDermott will oversee admissions, volunteers, advertising, public relations and publicity for the museum.
